How much can I win at the Major Tournaments?
Good question, but not an easy answer. Let's think positive and assume you win the tournament. You take First Place and receive a very beautiful plaque that you're proud to hang on your wall to remind yourself of this fantastic day throwing darts. That is way cool, cause you would have beaten some very good players. But, just as importantly, let's count the money you get to take home.
There is TWO different pay out schedules ... The PURSE and the ENTRY FEE Percentage
For a view of the pay out charts based on 100 entries click here ($).
The PURSE is a total of $1,000, which is the money collected from over 100 regular weekly tournaments. This prize money is dispersed to as many individuals as possible for it was everyone who played in the weekly tournaments that made this Prize possible. (See pay out chart (P$)
The 1st Place team receives $180 of the Purse or $90 each.
The ENTRY FEE Percentage PRIZE is based on the overall number of entries in the Tournament of Champions. The Circuit guarantees to PAY OUT at least $1,500 in the up and coming September 25th, TOC (that is both purse and entry fee prize money). This figure is based on only 25 teams or 50 players entering the tournament. However, the 1st TOC had 84 players, the 2nd had 104 players. So, the guarantee should be a mute point. If so, why do I use it? For promotional power, only! It is an amount, I know the Circuit can pay out without going into the red, yet it draws tremendous attention to the TOC.
In actuality, the 1st Place team receives approximately 44 - 50% of the over-all entries fees (minus 20% used to offset tournament expenses, i.e. plaques, door prizes, help, etc).
Let us assume that in this next TOC there are 100 entries into the tournament ... That is $10 per person or $ 1,000 ... Minus 20% or $200 ... This leaves a total of $800 Entry Fee Prize $$
1st place receives 48% of this Entry Fee amount. Which is ... $384 to the team or $192 each player, plus $180 to the team or $90 each player for the Purse ... totaling ... $564 to the team or $282 each player. Plus plaques.
Not bad for a FUN DAY'S work, is it?
Therefore, as the number of participants in the tournament increases so does the pay out to the top 8 teams. See pay out chart ($).
