Circuit Basics / Season-End Major Tournaments

How to Qualify for Season-End Major Tournaments

The Tournament of Champions, Super Singles Shoot-Out and Dartistry Championships

The qualification process is very simple and is just a TWO STEP process. All a player MUST DO is:

  1. Play in at least 10 nightly Circuit dart tournaments in ONE specific "area" during the qualification period.

The qualifying period for each 'area' is twenty-six (26) weeks long. Each NEW qualification period usually starts ONE week PRIOR to the previous season-end TOC/SSS or Dartistry Events; and runs for 26 weeks until the evening (last tournament) usually ONE week before that new season's TOC/SSS or Dartistry Championships. This allows for the final processing of player information and tournament results to insure all qualified players are recorded and notified as well as all TOC/Dartistry funds are collected prior to the season-end tournaments. (Licensed 'Area' director determines the beginning and end of that area's season.)

As an example, if there are SIX tournaments a week in your 'area' of play, then there would be approximately 156 tournaments in which to qualify for that area's season-end event. From time to time, there will be a second tournament that would also counts toward qualification. This should be sufficient time and plenty of tournaments for a player to qualify for any of the season-end TOC/SSS or Dartistry Events.

  2. A Player must place "in the money", 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th (if paying third and/or fourth that night) in ONLY ONE of those ten times or more that he/she played. A player does NOT have to place FIRST, just place anywhere "in the money". For women, this includes winning the Honey Pot.

A player can play in as many tournaments as they choose, however, they ONLY have to PLACE in ONE tournament to qualify.

OPTIONAL - If an individual plays in MORE THAN 10 tournaments during a season, the "Participation Reward Program" comes into play and allows an individual to PREPAY his ENTRY FEES for the season-end TOC/SSS or Dartistry event just by playing in the nightly tournaments.

In some 'areas' there may be a couple of different 'neighborhoods'. In such a situation, there will be an 'area' season-end DARTISTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS. Each 'neighborhood' tournament is considered inclusive of that 'area' and every tournament played in each/any of that 'area's' 'neighborhood' tournaments count as a tourney played toward qualification for that 'area's' season-end Dartistry event.

The Dartistry Qualification Satellite Location (D.Q.S.L.) Program.

This program was initiated in the hopes to increase player interest & participation in this EVENT and of eventually procuring additional sponsoring clubs outside of the DFW area. The DQSL program is a cooperative effort between the Circuit and CLUBS / BARS that hold weekly 'Dart Tournaments', but are not currently a Circuit sponsor.

This program provides a Dart Player with the opportunity to QUALIFY for the next Circuit's Dartistry Championships without having to travel long-distances or play in a regular Circuit tournament; instead, they just play at their local favorite Pub/Club/Bar. With the cooperation of their favorite club a 'Dart Player' can PAY AN EXTRA $1.00 over and above the tournament entry fee and have the results of that nightly tournament recorded and posted on the Circuit's website. All DQSL tourneys count toward a player's individual Dartistry Qualification and 'Participation Reward Credits'.

The club's tournament director will collect the $1 and a matching $1 from the club for every player desiring to use this DQSL program. The director must then send the $2 per player along with each participating players' name, plus the finishing results of said tourney to Pub Sports Promotion for inclusion on the Circuit's website and each players individual stats. All collected monies are added to the season's overall Dartistry Funds used to reach the guaranteed Payout at the season-end event.

This program is available for any 'Dart Club' in Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana. Contact the DFW Area Director for information and participation requirements.

The "Dartistry Championships"

The "Dartistry Championships" is a season-end final Special Event tournament for the dart players in a multiple 'neighborhood' 'area'. This is a combined 'neighborhood' event and brings players from all over a given 'area' or 'region' to compete against one another in this EXCITING one/two/three day event.

The actual nightly player participation level from all 'neighborhoods' in a given, area/region during a season will determine the number of tournaments at any "Dartistry Championships" as well as the actual PAYOUT at the EVENT. A season-end Dartistry Championship could be the same as an 'area' TOC/SSS event or it could extend over 1, 2, or 3 days and have as many tournaments as time and Funds raised will allow. As a current example, the DFW Dartistry Championships has become a 3 day event and includes SEVEN (7) separate double elimination tournaments. (See Dartistry Championships for details of this event.)

I hope this has helped you to understand the qualification process for these events. If you are still uncertain, then JUST PLAY 10 times and PLACE "in the money" ONCE and keep on checking this website under "ARE YOU QUALIFIED?" until the combined total of tourneys played by you (all neighborhoods in 'Area') equal 10 or more and show you have placed at least ONCE. Please feel free to contact the 'area' director if you believe there is a discrepancy in your total.
